生平
曾在克林顿时期的白宫工作。
他有一段短时间想重返政治。他曾想在洛杉矶市政府工作，最终却撤回申请。「我去一个会议旁听，而这是我生命中最乏味、沉闷的一个半小时。所以我撤回了申请尽管我几乎就胜出了。我得到51票！」
曾在美国国家公立电台工作，在Weekly Edition这节目中当过制作人和撰稿人，而且很喜欢这份工作。
曾在1999年得到Liberty Heights和Girl Interrupted.的演出机会后，到了洛杉机市，正式取艺名为Misha Collins。由于他曾到俄罗斯，能带俄罗斯口音说话，所以得到过很多这类角色。尤其是电视节目《24》第一季中的Alexis Drazen。此后他也一直客串于各电视节目和电影。2006年他主演Karla，饰演Paul Bernardo。他于2008年开始在邪恶力量中饰演的Castiel，成为常驻演员，使他的知名度增加。本来他以为自己是在试镜一个恶魔，一个顶级恶魔，所以尽量表现的好斗而且卑劣。 但他读完台词后，Eric Kripke（SPN制片人）才表示其实他们是要一个天使，只是为了保密而不公布。后来他就被录取了，演出邪恶力量第四季，第五季，也确定参演第六季。

由于他的家庭很贫穷，经常因欠租而被赶走，他小时候最少每年要换一次学校。最后在Greenfield Center School毕业後，於1992年在Northfield Mount Hermon高中毕业。

母亲在大学期间去了俄罗斯，结识俄国男友Misha,但其实他的名字是Mitya，他母亲却误把他的昵称误解为他的本名，并把Misha这名字作为她儿子的名字，这让Misha的父亲很懊恼。Krushnic是加拿大源远流长的姓氏，但不知道是源自俄罗斯、乌克兰还是波兰。
他是他高中有历史以来(约1200年)身体柔软度最高的男生。而2009年在一次受伤后的检查中他才发现原来这是因为他的背骨天生缺了一部分骨头。这也使他能在整容室中饰演一个柔软度极高的瑜珈导师一角。有趣的是，面试时，当他被问到有没有学瑜珈（其实是没有的），他说谎说他有学瑜珈，并且是从高中以后每天至少练一个小时。事实是他花了十天伸展，事後至少一个星期都要弯著腰走路。事实上他不会在这么做了，因为背骨的缺陷可能会使他瘫痪……
他2009年受伤的原因是他当时以约55英里每小时的车速骑单车，他因此需要入住医院。
他养有两只乌龟，分别叫Drydraluxlaloud和Bonnie brae the second(他取的）.
他于2002年和高中的女朋友Victoria Vantoch 结婚，她在美国NASA工作。此外，他在洛杉矶市的家是他自己建的，他曾当木工去赚大学学费。他花了整整两年建屋，然后又花了四年时间修补才算住稳当了。
在2008年他在Loot中首次担任助理制片人。Loot的导演是他中学时最要好的朋友，而这是他朋友的第一部电影，他负责编辑的工作。他在2010年拍了一部短片STRANGER DANGER上传在网上，他表示有兴趣多拍一些。
第一次演戏是五岁时演一个反抗母亲的四岁女孩，这是在University of Massachusetts, Amherst的小剧场上的一个三小时的表演。他有一句台词:"Yes I can. I can believe it because it’s true."
