龚芸(Yun Gong)医生是美国德克萨斯大学MD安德森癌症中心 (The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, USA)病理学终身教授 (Professor with Tenure)。

1979年至1984 年就读于浙江医科大学(现浙江大学医学院)医疗系, 毕业后留校在组胚教研组任助教两年。

1986年考取该校病理专业研究生，并于1989年获硕士学位。

1989至1990 在中科院上海细胞所从事人-鼠单抗研究。

1991年前往荷兰, 在 Department of Molecular and Developmental Genetics, Catholic University of Nijmegen从事分子遗传学研究。

自1994起, 先后在美国加州大学圣地亚哥分校的医学中心以及The Scripps Research Institute从事蛋白受体与心血管疾病发病机理的研究。

1998年至2002年，在芝加哥西北大学 (Northwestern University) 接受解剖病理和临床病理住院医培训。继而在休斯顿的德克萨斯大学MD安德森癌症中心接受细胞病理学Fellowship专业培训并留院工作至今。

龚芸医生的主要研究领域是细胞学诊断和发展。她也热衷于乳腺癌生物指标的稳定性与靶向治疗关系的研究以及探索与乳腺癌个性化诊断治疗有关的可行性研究。迄今，已发表学术论文120篇,包括柳叶刀·肿瘤 (Lancet Oncology)，美国医学会会刊 (JAMA)，美国临床肿瘤学杂志(Journal of Clinical Oncology) 和癌症期刊 (Cancer), 特邀综述或评论18篇，会议摘要118篇, 独立出书1本, 参与编写书籍章节6部。她是MD安德森癌症中心多项乳腺癌科题的负责人或重要合作人, 参与乳腺癌基础研究和临床试验课题二十余项。她参与的炎性乳癌课题获两个Susan G. Komen Promise Grant资助。

龚芸医生是美国加拿大病理学院 (United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, USCAP), 美国细胞病理学协会(American Society of Cytopathology, ASC)， 美国病理学家协会(College of American Pathologists, CAP)和全美华人病理学会 (Chinese American Pathologists Association, CAPA)会员。她担任或曾经担任美国细胞病理学协会的Editorial Review Board和 Scientific Program Committee(学术筹划委员会 )成员， 全美华人病理学会教育学术委员会主席，全美华人病理学会副主席。2017年2月当选为全美华人病理学会候任主席。
