　　Michelle Ryan在Middlesex郡大伦敦区Enfield出生，于Chace Community School就读。她自十岁起就进入了当地的剧团。15岁时她被选中在East Enders中出演并最终在2000年9月演出。在此剧中，她使用的伦敦口音而不是她的乡音。2005年，她为了集中精力于舞台剧和电影宣布离开East Enders剧组。她认为在EastEnders时的工作就像是日后出演Bionic Woman（无敌女金刚）的彩排。

　　Ryan职业生涯中的第一次重大突破是在Chosen Ones第一季中出演Sheylla Grands及BBC肥皂剧EastEnders中扮演Zoe Slater。
